This association is inspired by the boundless creative aptitude innate in every child; which if properly maximized today, can make a nation greater than the great tomorrow. It is in the African Child more, who yearns for the opportunity to blossom. We believe this, and as well, live out William Wordsworth’s wise words:-
“ The child is father of the man:
And I could wish my days to be
Bound each to each by natural piety. ”
Thus, we are passionately driven by what we can conceive and achieve in and with time; hence ‘when’ or ‘where’ others are waiting for a time to come, we are busy creating and carving out time in all its usefulness in an unmatched entrepreneurial spirit! By so doing, we give back to life, we contribute to our beautiful State and we do more for our nation. Astoundingly, we see wealth in wastes, and we waste no time in converting them into utility like coconut shell into buttons, bangles, pendants et cetera.
Moreover, since “Talent is Never Enough,” according to John C. Maxwell, our vibrant Book Club readily uplifts, activates and focuses us even beyond borders of mere imagination. Hence, we aid Francis Bacon to rather say that, Reading maketh a full man and woman! We not only read, we write right and dream of having our Yowamca Book Series soon. Our annual essay competition basically titled, “What I will like to BE in Future,” is aimed at a purpose driven life and clear cut aspiration from the bud to mention a few. And there’s a Finest Reader Trophy every month that goes to any who read and summarized most number of novels in the month.
We had our first exhibition titled YowamcA Epi-XibitioN on Sunday 10th, August 2014, in which we thrilled the State with our top-quality and state of the art products. Since then, we have been published in Guardian Newspaper September Edition, AfricanWorld Newspaper Dublin and have attended some other national exhibitions. For instance, three of our members represented the State as Ambassadors at the just concluded 28th National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST), 2014 in Ebonyi State.
We will be able to do much more with your assistance and presence! Connect with the thrill on Facebook: O’star Yowamca.
